Stayed a long weekend at the Hotel Newport. Its located in a small fairly quiet but picturesque town on the way to Achill Island. Although not a party town it is a really nice place and its based in easy reach of Achill Island, Westport and Castlebar which all offer loads of activities. I would especially recommend the area for people interested in doing some light walks etc.

The hotel itself is very nice. Our room was spacious - well furnished and very comfortable. The staff were helpful and friendly and the meal we had in the hotel restaurant was top notch - with a well chosen and very reasonable wine list to boot."
