Gael Force 24 Hour Cycle Training Weekends

• When: 7th and 8th May 2010
• When: 16th and 17th May 2010
• When: 22nd and 23rd May 2010
• When: 12th and 13th June 2010

So you have registered your team (or yourself if racing Solo) for the 24hr Cycle Challenge, and you are all psyched to get to the race, have fun hanging out with your friends, and ride your bike at night. But now is the time to also start thinking about actual “training” for the race so you have the fitness, stamina, and confidence to get out there and do it; whether you are racing solo, or just want to make sure you are giving an honest effort to help your team do well. Why not take part in one of our training weekends where you can experience the course and enjoy the hospitality of our team here at Hotel Newport

June Bank Holiday

Burrishoole Walking Festival

• When: 4th - 7th June 2010
  The annual Burrishoole Walking Festival, takes place over the June bank Holiday weekend. There will be a variety of walks designed to suit all comers. Burrishoole spans the area between the villages of Mulranney and Newport in West Mayo, it is enclosed by the Nephin beg mountain range to the north, and by the Clew bay to the south
  

Gael Force 24 hour Cycle

• When: 19th- 20th June 2010
  The 24hr Cycle Challenge incorporates a 24hr Mountain Bike Challenge and a 24hr Road Bike Challenge. These challenges are achievable by all levels of fitness; if you’re not a fitness fanatic and don’t fancy riding for 24hr straight do the event with a group of friends.
  

August Bank Holiday

• When: 2nd August 2010

Grainne Uaile Festival

• When: 29th June - 2nd August 2010
  Occurs annually during the summer. Events include: Live Music on Street , Pub Crawl, 60's Disco, Irish Traditional night on street. Crafts Display, BBQ on street, Raft Race and Fancy Dress Ball in Community Hall.
  

Gael Force Festival

• When: 21st August 2010
  Gaelforce West is the largest one day adventure race of its kind in the world. It is a multi-sport adventure race involving cycling, running, hiking and kayaking. The course of approximately 65km stretches from the stunning Glassilaun beach to Westport. En route there are some significant obstacles to cross, including Killary Harbour and the famous holy mountain of Croagh Patrick.
